Timber!

We made it back home! Then left again a couple weeks later to go on a trip up to Port Hardy (my very first time there) so that Mike could help his uncle Brett build his new house. The coolest thing about this house? It's timber frame. And while I couldn't be of much help during the construction, I did get the chance to take some really great photos:

The whole thing comes together like a giant jigsaw puzzle. Each piece slides into place without much effort (for the most part). Rick, the mastermind behind all this, uses only a chainsaw to carve the wood with staggering precision.

We also went fishing and I caught my first Coho! We had four in total and cooked one on the bbq for dinner last night with Matt and Morgan. There's nothing quite like the taste of fresh salmon that you caught yourself :)
